Rule 11
Scrutiny of nomination papers
(1) When the election officer examines the nomination papers that have been registered in accordance with section 20 of the Act, if there is a complaint against any candidate in accordance with section 21 of the Act, he shall make a decision based on the necessary investigation.
(2) When checking nomination papers, if two nomination papers of the same person are registered in a constituency, if both nomination papers are valid, then the election officer shall retain one of the nomination papers according to the wishes of the concerned candidate or his representative, proposer or supporter. But in the event that such a candidate, his representative, proposer or supporter is not present, the election officer can maintain one of the nomination papers.
(3) During examination of the nomination paper, the nomination paper will not be invalidated just because of a small error in the nomination paper. Explanation:- For the purposes of this sub-rule and sub-rule (2) of rule 28, "minor error" means technical or letter, quantity related to writing or printing the name, surname, age, nationality or serial number of a candidate, proposer or a person related to him in the electoral roll or in the nomination paper.
